Road Closure and Lane Reduction Advisory January 8, 2010 The Engineering Department today announced that effective Monday, January 11, 2010 McBride St. at Riverside Dr. will be closed to all traffic while work on the west end sanitary line continues. Riverside Dr. will be reduced to three lanes with the closing of the outside east bound travel lane. One lane of traffic on McBride St. will be re-opened during night time hours and on weekends when work crews are off. We expect this work to take 3 to 4 weeks to complete. Expect delays and exercise caution and patience when driving in this area. "These temporary measures are necessary to safeguard the health and safety of workers and to allow the safe operation of heavy equipment while Belanger Construction continues with the necessary excavation and boring activities associated with the installation of a new sanitary sewer line. The new west end sanitary line will increase capacity and allow for approximately 25 acres of new commercial developments" added Luc Duval, Director Engineering, City of Timmins. The Engineering Department will issue updates as they become available. For more information, contact Pat Seguin, Manager Engineering Department, 360-2600 ext. 4855.
