Overnight Parking Restrictions During Winter Months

Residents are reminded that between November 1 and May 15 of each year the parking of a vehicle on City streets or part of a street within the City of Timmins between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. the following day is prohibited, unless signs stating otherwise are posted. The objective of By-law 1983-2004 is to provide safe and passable road conditions at all times.

The City utilizes detailed weather reports and 24 hour patrols to respond quickly to winter conditions. Vehicles parked on the streets impede the City's ability to clear snow and maintain the roads in a safe and passable condition.

Keeping City streets clear of vehicles during winter months helps ensure that Public Works crews can effectively plough and remove snow from City streets in a timely fashion. It also ensures that emergency vehicles can respond to life safety issues in your neighbourhood in a timely manner and that you have safe access to and from your private property.

Don't be part of the problem - Be part of the solution!

Any vehicle found parked in contravention of By-law 1983-2004, may be ticketed and/or towed. You can avoid this unnecessary expense and inconvenience by ensuring that your vehicle is not parked on the street between 11:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. the following day or during hours as specified on signs posted at specific locations between November 1 and May 15.
